Real Life kitchensTailored For Mr & Mrs. Hodgson
Mr & Mrs. Hodgson, Harrogate
Mr & Mrs Hodgson’s home is a quaint cottage located in the beautiful North Yorkshire town of Harrogate. The couple had just moved into the property, so their aim with this renovation was to put their own stamp on the kitchen, making it the heart of the home. In terms of design, the clients were searching for a bright and modern space, so we opted for our contemporary Capita slab door with a handleless trim for a truly sleek look. A calming colour palette of Matt White and Dove Grey help to make the room feel spacious and welcoming, whilst the contrasting Matt Graphite handleless trim is an eye-catching element that brings depth to the design. However, we would have to argue that the real focal point of the space is the waterfall peninsular, using the delicate yet detailed White Venato Quartz worksurface, which is continued throughout the kitchen as a worktop and as a beautiful splashback. When it came to practicalities of the kitchen, it was important to Mr & Mrs Hodgson that no space was wasted in the compact room. We focused on utilising the space available, choosing to design full-height units to increase cupboard surface area, and installing clever storage solutions, such as the Kesseböhmer Pull-Out unit and Tandem Larder. A full-size dishwasher, washer-dryer, full-height refrigerator and an undercounter freezer were also included in the design, integrated into units for a smooth, uncluttered look.
When designing a small space think carefully about the colours you use. In this particular project, we used light cabinet doors with a light worktop to make the kitchen feel more spacious and emphasise the room's natural light.

“We are overjoyed with how much of the space has been used! We particularly love the worktop splash-back effect against the white units and walls. It makes the space seem so much bigger than it is!”
