Green Takes 2020 Colour of the Year

Sunday, January 12, 2020

Each Autumn, the UK’s leading wallpaper and paint specialists pledge their trend predictions for the upcoming year, with Green set to take the spotlight for 2020!

GREEN TAKES THE LIMELIGHT...

Two of the UK's leading experts in paint and home decor, Dulux and Graham & Brown, have announced their 'Colours of the Year' for 2020 as two beautiful green shades- both striking in a unique way.

Dulux

Inspired by the start of the new decade and the calming tones of a morning sky, Dulux have chosen a soft, cool-tone, aptly named- Tranquil Dawn.

The brand stated:

"As 2020 is the start of a new decade, it’s a fresh start. A new dawn. In an increasingly hectic and digital world, there is a desire for meaning and kindness. It reflects a growing desire to understand what it is to be human at a time when advances in technology are making us feel increasingly disconnected from each other."

Although predicted a trend for 2020, we believe a muted green is a timeless shade that works perfectly in any classic or modern kitchen design. If you're looking to incorporate a similar shade into your kitchen renovation, why not check out Life Kitchens' contemporary take on the green trend- Regiment? Balancing a heritage feel with its calming tone and refined flair, the shade pairs perfectly with brass accents, natural tones, or deep, rich blacks.

Alternatively, why not pair a Regiment kitchen design with a Tranquil Dawn feature wall, for an elegant, two-tone green space?

Graham & Brown

The second of the two Greens predicted to be popular in 2020 is a dark, intimate hue from Graham & Green- named Adeline.

The brand describes the shade as:

"A deep rich bottle green hue whose natural qualities work perfectly with most other colours."

A beautiful statement colour, Adeline resembles Life Kitchens' own rich, sophisticated shade- Copse Green. Perfect as a wrap-around design to create an opulent cocoon of colour in a traditional or modern kitchen, this deep hue pairs perfectly with dark wooden textures and statement gold/brass accents.
